Lessons in Technology

Careers in the tech and IT fields are growing at an astounding pace. That’s why we were excited to take part in The University of Akron’s IT Career Camp last week. The week-long camp gives high school students from Northeast Ohio a chance to learn more about technology-focused careers.

Six student teams (one sponsored by Knotice) heard from area companies, participated in exercises, and competed for CITe scholarships and prizes.

Our own co-founders Brian and Bill told students what it was like to start companies years ago and how different it is today with tools and platforms like Cloud9, Heroku, and Node.js. The teams competed in an exercise using these tools plus Facebook’s API and pixlr.

We’re also happy to report that the Knotice-sponsored blue team was the grand prize winner at this year’s camp! Congratulations to the blue team and to all of the students who participated!
