Patti RennerOne of my favorite parts of attending thought leadership industry events like Forrester’s Marketing Leadership Forum 2012 is all the great trivia and insights you get to bring home with you. Here are a few of my favorite factoids from the event.

  • $214 – The average cost per customer compromised when a data breach occurs.
  • 86% – Percentage of customers willing to pay more for a great customer experience with a brand.
  • 7.6 – Average number of different sources customers use throughout the purchase process when considering new technology.
  • $326 billion – Projected volume of e-commerce transactions in 2016.
  • “Special” – People are willing to pay extra to feel like this.
  • 2.7 billion – Average number of “likes” and “comments” posted on Facebook daily.
  • 85% – Percentage of digital marketers who engage in social media while working.
  • 190,000 – Shortage of people needed to fill available “big data” jobs (advanced analytics).
  • 17% – Percentage of mobile phone owners who had smartphones back in 2010.
